Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ functional abilities and develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans
- Deliver evidence-based interventions to improve independence with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient-centered care and discharge planning
- Document therapy progress and outcomes clearly and timely in the medical record
- Educate patients and families on therapeutic strategies and home programs to support recovery
- Adapt interventions to meet the needs of diverse patient populations and acuity levels
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Occupational Therapist license (or ability to obtain) in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in Occupational Therapy (explicit requirement)
- Current CPR/BLS certification as required by facility
- Strong clinical reasoning and patient assessment skills
- Reliable professional references and ability to pass background and health screenings
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy (OT) or equivalent professional degree
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in ADL training, mobility training, and adaptive equipment recommendations
- Skilled in performing standardized and functional assessments
- Solid documentation skills and familiarity with electronic health records
- Ability to educate patients and families in an approachable, clear manner
- Collaborative communication with nurses, physicians, PTs, SLPs and other team members
