Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ functional abilities and develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans
• Deliver evidence-based interventions to improve independence with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient-centered care and discharge planning
• Document therapy progress and outcomes clearly and timely in the medical record
• Educate patients and families on therapeutic strategies and home programs to support recovery
• Adapt interventions to meet the needs of diverse patient populations and acuity levels
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Occupational Therapist license (or ability to obtain) in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in Occupational Therapy (explicit requirement)
• Current CPR/BLS certification as required by facility
• Strong clinical reasoning and patient assessment skills
• Reliable professional references and ability to pass background and health screenings

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy (OT) or equivalent professional degree

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in ADL training, mobility training, and adaptive equipment recommendations
• Skilled in performing standardized and functional assessments
• Solid documentation skills and familiarity with electronic health records
• Ability to educate patients and families in an approachable, clear manner
• Collaborative communication with nurses, physicians, PTs, SLPs and other team members
