Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based medical-surgical nursing care to adult patients
• Perform thorough patient assessments and continuously monitor status changes
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions clearly in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, procedures, medications, and discharge planning
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and safety

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas licensure or multistate compact where applicable)
• Minimum 1 year of medical-surgical nursing experience as stated in the posting
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS or specialty certifications preferred
• Strong clinical assessment skills and proven ability to manage Med-Surg patient populations
• Reliable, professional, and able to adapt quickly to a new facility and team

Education

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and adult patient care
• Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapy
• Skilled at patient assessment, care planning, and prioritization
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Time management and the ability to handle multiple patient needs safely
