Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality critical care to adult and geriatric patients in the ICU
- Manage ventilated patients and perform ventilator troubleshooting and adjustments
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret dysrhythmias; obtain and interpret 12-lead EKGs
- Manage arterial, central and PICC lines and perform arterial/central line care
- Administer blood products safely and follow transfusion protocols
- Titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips and manage continuous IV sedation/paralytics
- Perform chest tube care and assist with chest tube insertion/removal as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (pharmacy, IV team, respiratory therapy) to optimize patient outcomes
- Float between like units within scope to meet facility staffing needs
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the appropriate state (pending licenses are not accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience (travel experience required)
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Must pass EKG exam — no exceptions
- Comfort with Epic charting system
- Ability to work every-other-weekend and participate in unit float as needed
Knowledge & Skills
- Ventilator management and care of ventilated patients
- Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and 12-lead EKG interpretation
- Arterial, central and PICC line management
- IV therapy and IV starts; blood product administration
- Titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips; continuous IV sedation/paralytics
- Chest tube care and basic respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP assistance)
- ICP monitoring, lumbar drains and post-craniotomy care (neuro ICU experience preferred)
- Trauma level II experience, GI surgery and renal failure management
- Familiarity with working in a teaching hospital environment and interdisciplinary care
