Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare, package, and label medications accurately to support safe patient care
- Assist pharmacists with dispensing processes and maintain medication inventory
- Document medication dispensing and transactions in Cerner with attention to detail
- Support medication reconciliation and help ensure compliance with safety protocols
- Participate in stock management, restocking, and controlled substance accountability
- Communicate clearly with nursing staff and pharmacists to coordinate timely medication delivery
- Contribute to a patient-centered environment by answering questions professionally and courteously
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of pharmacy experience in an acute care or hospital setting
- BLS Certification required
- COVID-19 vaccination required (documentation/certification)
- License to submit (per facility requirements) — ability to meet credentialing standards
- Experience using Cerner or similar electronic charting/dispensing systems
- Willingness to complete a 12-hour orientation at the start of the assignment
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with Cerner and electronic medication records
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy dispensing processes and medication safety
- Familiarity with acute care pharmacy workflows and inventory control
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy under pressure
- Clear communication and teamwork skills in a multidisciplinary environment
- Ability to follow policies, maintain documentation, and support regulatory compliance
