Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare, package, and label medications accurately to support safe patient care
• Assist pharmacists with dispensing processes and maintain medication inventory
• Document medication dispensing and transactions in Cerner with attention to detail
• Support medication reconciliation and help ensure compliance with safety protocols
• Participate in stock management, restocking, and controlled substance accountability
• Communicate clearly with nursing staff and pharmacists to coordinate timely medication delivery
• Contribute to a patient-centered environment by answering questions professionally and courteously

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of pharmacy experience in an acute care or hospital setting
• BLS Certification required
• COVID-19 vaccination required (documentation/certification)
• License to submit (per facility requirements) — ability to meet credentialing standards
• Experience using Cerner or similar electronic charting/dispensing systems
• Willingness to complete a 12-hour orientation at the start of the assignment

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with Cerner and electronic medication records
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy dispensing processes and medication safety
• Familiarity with acute care pharmacy workflows and inventory control
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy under pressure
• Clear communication and teamwork skills in a multidisciplinary environment
• Ability to follow policies, maintain documentation, and support regulatory compliance
