Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the radiology program to ensure high-quality patient imaging services
- Lead, mentor and evaluate a team of radiology technologists and support staff
- Provide PACS training and troubleshoot transcription or reporting issues
- Ensure radiology equipment is maintained, inspected and meets regulatory requirements
- Manage radiation protection monitoring and lead apron testing to keep staff safe
- Develop and maintain radiology policies, procedures and quality assurance activities
- Collaborate with clinic administrators and medical directors to improve clinical workflows and outcomes
- Prepare required reports, assist with equipment quotes, and help optimize revenue capture through accurate charge capture
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Radiology
- Current ARRT, AMRIT or ARDMS certification (must hold one of these)
- Registered Mammographer and Registered US Technologist credentials preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Minimum 5 years of radiology department management and supervision experience
- Minimum 5 years experience as a radiology technologist
- PACS training and familiarity with digitized imaging workflows
- Multimodality experience (CT, MRI, XR, Mammo, Ultrasound) preferred
- Flu vaccine required per client policy
Education
- Graduate from an accredited School of Radiology
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of federal, state and accreditation regulations related to radiology services (including MQSA)
- Strong skills in QA/QC processes and radiology equipment oversight
- Proficiency using multiple computer systems and digital imaging platforms
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for interacting with clinicians and staff
- Ability to create radiology manuals, document medical information clearly, and build strong teams
- Competence in supervising staff, conducting evaluations, and ensuring competency of technologists
