Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents in the Casa Del Sol Center
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document care in the chart
• Perform routine patient assessments and communicate changes to the care team
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and facility staff to create a safe care plan
• Support residents with activities of daily living while preserving dignity and independence
• Maintain infection control standards and follow facility policies for safety
• Participate in shift handovers, reporting clear and concise updates for continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) credential (required)
• Active or eligible for licensure in New Mexico (ability to obtain state licensure)
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass required background and health screenings
• Comfortable working in a long-term care/rehabilitation setting and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program (diploma or certificate)
• High school diploma or GED preferred where applicable

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid medication administration and documentation skills
• Patient assessment, vital sign monitoring, and basic wound care knowledge
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate charting
• Strong communication skills with residents, families, and colleagues
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and remain calm under pressure
• Commitment to resident-centered care and safety practices
