Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents including assistance with activities of daily living
- Monitor resident condition and report changes to nursing staff promptly to ensure excellent continuity of care
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility support while promoting resident dignity and independence
- Document care accurately and timely in the resident chart to maintain clear communication across the team
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to keep residents and staff safe
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support individualized care plans and positive outcomes
Qualifications
- Active GNA certification or equivalent state nursing assistant credential preferred
- High school diploma or GED required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or must be obtainable upon hire
- Previous experience in long-term care or similar setting is a plus
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen and required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- GNA or CNA certification preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting)
- Knowledge of infection prevention and safe patient handling
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
- Good observational skills to notice and report changes in resident condition
